RT-IGS (RTIGS) Available Software Tools

Real-Time GNSS Reader (RTGNSSR)

Natural Resources Canada, Geodetic Survey Division and Geoscience Australia have cooperatively developed a software package that collects real-time data from Ashtech, Javad and Topcon GNSS receivers. This software performs the following functions: receiver control, real-time data collection and validation, real-time data transmission and data archival. The Real Time GNSSR Data Collection Software runs on the Linux platform.

Key Features:

  • Configures the GNSS receiver.
  • Reads and validates the GNSS data in real-time from the receiver serial port.
  • Archives, native format GNSS messages in user defined file sizes.
  • Converts the GNSS Data into the Real-Time IGS (RTIGS) format.
  • Transmits the RT-IGS data to a specified IP address (UDP).
  • Logs performance and error messages in daily log files.
  • Communicates with RTIGSUDPR to enable robust real-time data distribution.
  • Runs on the LINUX operating system.

Real-Time BenchMark Reader (RTBR)

A software package that reads the real-time data from AOA BenchMark receivers. This software provides features that are very similar to the RTAR software described in the RTIGSAR section above.

GFZ Data Collection and Archival Software

GFZ have developed a suite of RT software tools for AOA BenchMark receivers. The GFZ tools support: GPS receiver configuration and monitoring; real-time data transmission using UDP and on site data archival. A data center tool collects remote site data. Similar software for NovAtel receivers is currently in the final stages of acceptance testing. All tools run on the LINUX operating system.

Real-Time IGS UDPRelay (RTIGSUDPR)

The real-time UDP relay functions as a specialized software router. It is designed to route GPS data from data collection software, through a network of UDP relays and finally to either end users or a data archival server.

Key Features:

  • Robust transmission of messages using UDP with ack's and retries
  • Real-time data translation and compression
  • Real-time configuration
  • Real-time performance monitoring
  • Real-time data authentication or encryption
  • Remote administration
  • Message Broadcast using IP Multicast or UDP
  • Supports the RT-IGS message protocol and formats
  • Open source translation libraries (C++)
  • Executable freely available to RT-IGS contributors

RT-IGS Archival Software (RTIGSA)

The RTIGS Archiver (RTIGSA) saves the RTIGS real-time data stream in files. Additionally, the RTIGSA produces statistics indicating the number of data epochs delivered for each station. The station statistics provide a measure of the quality of the data delivery from each station.

RT-IGS Multicast Receive Software (RTIGSMR)

The RTIGSMR software receives the RTIGS data stream and provides users with a framework to develop applications. The source code and a developer kit is available to RTIGS users.

TEQC

TEQC has been modified to translate RTIGS data into RINEX formatted data. The availability of TEQC completes the RTIGS data collection system.
